Keaau’s Hagemann Trying to Fill Big Running Shoes
Keaau’s Natalie Hagemann follows a rich tradition of cross-country family members as sister, Nina, and brother, Nick, both ran for the Cougars.
Nina and Nick were selected Most Outstanding Runners during their senior year at Keaau and both run on the University of Hawaii Hilo harrier team.
The regular BIIF cross-country season opens on Saturday with East Schools at Waiakea and West Schools visiting Kealakehe. Start times for both venues is 10 a.m. with the boys running first, followed by the girls.
Honokaa’s Tia Greenwell, the two time Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion, is expected to win her third title. The boys individual title is up for grabs with Honokaa’s Chris Mosch and Joshua Robinson, Keaau’s Shannon White and Hawaii Prep’s Tyler Tsubota all having a shot.
The Honokaa boys and girls teams are heavy favorites to win BIIF titles.
Natalie is just a freshman but I am sure she will prove herself as an outstanding runner in the Hagemann tradition!

I think Natalie will do just fine and she has “really big running shoes” to fill.
