Kamehameha will play host to a cross-country invitational meet this Saturday, Sept.12, at their Keaau campus.

Invited guest include the Kamehameha Oahu girls, Hawaii Baptist boys and girls, and a powerful girls team from Redlands in California.

The meet will also feature all 15 Big Island Interscholastic Federation cross-country teams for the first time this season.

“The coach from Redlands is from Hawaii.  His name is Dr. Rod Anzai and his son, Alan, was a star runner on Oahu back in the 90’s,” Kamehameha coach, Joel Truesdell said.

The Hawaii Baptist girls team, lead by coach Ross Mukai,  was sixth at last year’s state championships and they return their entire team.
