Wie Captures First LPGA Tour Win – Lorena Ochoa Invitational
It took 12 years, but Michelle Wie has finally captured her first LPGA tour victory.
The 20 year old from Honolulu got a little help from Paula Creamer and Cristie Kerr in the final three holes of the Lorena Ochoa Invitational from Guadalajara, Mexico.
Wie had opportunities to put the tournament away, but missed a birdie attempt on the 16th hole as her shot lipped out of the cup. While Wie was missing her birdie at 16 her competition, Creamer and Kerr were making bogies to fall off the lead.
Wie played the final day tied with both Creamer and Kerr at different points.
Wie finished the day three under par and was 13 under for the four day tournament.
“Green” Exercise Recommended in the Prevention of Depression
Approximately 20 percent of the U.S. population is affected by depression during a given year.
A common non pharmaceutical treatment recommended for the prevention of depression is exercise. It has been found that “green” exercise provides adults with a “recess” in a natural environment.
Joggers who exercise in a natural green setting with trees, foliage and landscape views feel more restored and less angry, anxious and depressed than people who exercise in a gym. It has also been noted that one of the main benefits of spending time in nature is stress reduction.
