Keaukaha 5K run/walk a Huge Success
THERE’S NO FUTURE ON METH, SENDING OUT THE MESSAGE
It was a bright sunny day in Keaukaha for the “No Future on Meth” 5K run/walk held this morning at the Hawaiian Village Beach.
More than 200 people showed up for the event hosted by Guy Loa and his ohana.
The 3.1-mile run/walk was none competitive and there were no running numbers and no one was logging in the time.
But the Big Dog kept track of the first couple of people and saw firsthand that Michael Daly crossed the line first in the 19 minute range with Waiakea’s Jackson Halford also breaking the 20 minute barrier and finished 20 seconds behind Daly.
The Big Dog clocked 23:12 and was the first senior citizen to cross the line.
Hats off to the Loa family and the many volunteers that helped to make this first ever event become an enormous success.
