World’s Top 3 Female Track & Field Athletes for 2010

Sanya Richards-Ross

SANYA RICHARDS-ROSS  – USA – 200 & 400 meter dash world champion

Sanya Richards-Ross (USA), the 2009 World Athlete of the Year and one of 14 IAAF Diamond League Ambassadors, participated in a media conference call this afternoon. Richards-Ross, the reigning World Champion in the 400m, who has already confirmed her participation in the inaugural IAAF Diamond League meeting in Doha (14 May), in Oslo (4 June) and Eugene (3 July). She opens her season on Saturday at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

Usain Bolt rated #1 in world

1)     USAIN BOLT – JAMAICA – 100 & 200

Bolt is the World Record holder in both the 100 & 200 meter races.  He continues to dominate on the world scene most recently winning in Shanghai.

Bolt holds world and Olympic records in both the 100 and 200 meters, with time of 9.58 seconds and 19.30 seconds respectively.  He is the first man in history to beak both world records at one Olympics and the first man to win both the 100 and 200 meter events at the same Olympics since Carl Lewis in 1984.

Tyson Gay ranked #2 in world
