Waikaumalo 7-mile Challenge Run on June 13

Laupahoehoe's Alan Ryan and the Big Island Road Runners will next host the 7-mile challenge. Ryan did Boston in April and will do the NYC Marathon in October

Randee and the Big Dog are headed to New York City today, but wanted to remind everyone of the new 7-mile run being hosted by the BIRR.

The Big Island Road Runners proudly presents the Waikaumalo 7 Mile Challenge Fun Run to be held at Waikaumalo Park on Sunday, June 13th at 7:30am.

This new fun run/walk is free to members and $2 to non-members.

Waikaumalo Park is located on the Hamakua Coast in the town of Ninole.  Please look for the BIRR signs which will be located at mile marker 19 of the highway.  Carpooling is recommended as parking is limited.  Please arrive early to sign in and receive final instructions.

The course begins at the park and heads along the Old Mamalahoa Hwy towards Umauma with the turnaround just after the World Botanical Gardens.  There will be an water station at mile 2 and 5 on the course.  Post run refreshments will be offered along with a drawing for prizes.

Some members are bringing food for a potluck after the run so if you would like to bring something it would be appreciated.  All are welcome to attend and have something to eat.  Let’s enjoy the morning!!!

For more information, please contact Alan Ryan at 962-6044.
