Iolani X-C Invite puts Murphy and Grossman as top runners in State

Seabury Freshman, Dakota Grossman

Early reports from Kau’s Bob Martin show that Island School Pierce Murphy and Seabury Hall’s Dakota Grossman were the top Hawaii finishers today at the Iolani Cross-Country Invitational.

For the boys it was the top three with defending state champion Pierce Murphy winning, followed by Leilehua’s Margarito Martinez and Kamehameha-Oahu Jordan Thibodeau taking top honors.

For the girls it was Rebecca Mehra of Palos Verdes winning the race followed by freshman sensation Dakota Grossman.  Defending state champion, Elli Brady of Punahou, finished 6th overall with teammate Kyleigh Mann coming in ahead of her.

Results have not been received at this time and once I have them they will be posted.

The following out of state teams participated in the  Iolani Cross Country Invitational this Saturday 9/18 at Kualoa Ranch near Ka’a’awa Oahu, HI:

  1. Just to make things clear, Margarito Martinez is the defending state champion in cross country. Pierce came in 2nd last year.
