Hapuna Roughwater Swim Results – all 251 finishers

Academy Swim Club and Academy Masters Swim Team are pleased to announce the
results of the 34th Annual Hapuna Rough Water 1 mile swim.

Beautiful weather and ideal racing conditions were on hand for the 251 swimmers
who challenged the course. In a tough battle for first place, Kai Foo (Kailua
Kona), edged Sean Domingo (Toronto, Canada) by two tenths of a second to take
the title. Foo’s time was 17:46.23 to Domingo’s 17:46.44.  On the women’s side,
Alyssa Foo (Kailua Kona) took the top honors and came in 4th overall. She held
off a strong surge by Noe Vargas (Waimea) who came in a respectable 5th overall.

      Big Island Sports Hall of Fame Member, Mo Mathews (84 years old) of Honoka'a,
swam the course just as he did back in the original race held in 1976.
