Vulcan Athletic Club Luncheon host men’s and women’s soccer programs
Men’s soccer coach, Bryan Green, brought with him to the Vulcan Athletic Club luncheon on Tuesday, Josiah Motosue formerly of the Kauai Insterscholastic Federation.
Green, a former long distance Ultra Marathoner, has completed the 50K Hilo to Volcano race.
That’s right, a soccer coach that can run from Coconut Island up to Cooper Center in Volcano Village a distance of 31 plus miles.
Also on hand was Vulcan women’s soccer coach, Marc Miranda, who brought two of his ladies to the luncheon.
Flanking Miranda, to his left is Emily A Cadiz formerly of Mililani High School on Oahu and came to UHH via Western Washington.
To Miranda’s right is Alysia Barone, a senior junior college transfer from San Diego.
Barone plays the back line and according to Miranda is a ‘leader by example.’
Barone says that the women soccer players have lots of individual talent but still need to learn to play together in order to get better.
The Vulcan ladies are very young with only two seniors on the team.
The Vulcan Athletic Club usually meet for lunch on the second Tuesday of the month at 12 noon at the Naniloa Palm Lounge.
