Honolii Bridge Closure will not affect Hilo Marathon

A fallen tree has closed the Honolii Bridge, but everything will be cleared up and open to foot traffic by the time the Big Island Marathon and Half Marathon rolls around in March 2012.

Crews will be working on building a guardrail.

Photos were taken by GA Rock who is in charge of Aid Station #4 at the eight mile mark of the race.

Rocky and his crew have been manning the Aid Station at Honolii for all 14 years of the marathon and will be doing it again in 2012.

Be sure to thank him and his family when they hand you a cup of liquid refreshment.
