  1. Mahalo nui for a wonderful event that once again you have put on and supported in our community. This was my first half marathon, and it was indeed a humbling, heartfelt and healing experience for me. I ran this race and dedicated it to my Mom . It will be 2 years this May since my dad has passed. It has been hard on all of us, especially my Mom. I tried to find something that I could do for her with determination and will to show her that we can move on. So this race has a lot of emotion for me. I was not able to run my best race as my knee has been bothering me. I was all cinched up with a knee brace and a handful of Advil to run this race. I hobbled most of the way, but I had reason to finish for my Mom. I gave her my medal. I could not have picked a more scenic and eventful race than this.

Blessings to you for all that you have done to maintain the beauty of this run.

Be well, take good care and I look forward to seeing my number in photos! #1004

  2. Wayne-
thanks again for hosting another great event! This is our third return to the
Big Island to participate in these races and we’ve enjoyed them all- rain or
shine! We appreciate your and the many volunteers’ efforts in organizing and
    running the races.
We wish you all the best with your treatments and recovery.
    Sincerely-
    Linda and Jim Christen
