First two games of the HHSAA girls softball championship from Rainbow Wahine Stadium

The first two games of the DataHouse/Hawai’i High School Athletic Association Division I State Championships at Rainbow Wahine Stadium.

 

The Kamehameha-Moanalua game was shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule.

DIVISION I

HHSAA girls golf finals – Kacie Komoto wins indivual title, Iolani team title

Punahou’s Komoto and ‘Iolani team crowned state champs

 Punahou junior Kacie Komoto shoots a 2-under-par 71 to edge Iolani freshman Rose Huang on the final day of the 2012 David S. Ishii Foundation Girls Golf State Championships at Wailua Golf Course on Kauai.  Komoto ended the two-day tournament with a total score of 145, finishing ahead of Huang by a mere stroke.  Defending champion Emi Koga of Moanalua finished in third, four strokes behind the champion with a score of 149.

In team competition Iolani managed hold on to yesterday’s 7-stroke lead, by shooting even with runner-up Punahou in the second round of competition.  Iolani finishes with a 36-hole grand total of 454, followed by Punahou School (461) and Waiakea (462).

 Next week, the boys take the course for the state championship, May 8-9, also at Wailua Golf Course on Kauai.
