Hilo to Volcano 50K Ultra and 31 mile relay
On January 19, 2013, The Big island Road Runners will be holding its 22nd annual Hilo to Volcano 50K Ultra and the 31 mile relay. Individuals can choose between running the enitre 50K (31 mile) course from Coconut Island to Cooper Center in Volcano Village by themselves as an untra-marathoner or as part of a three person relay team. In the relay team each member of a three member team takes turns running two mile legs up the mountain. The Ultra runners start at 6am and the relay teams starts at 6:30 am. Early registration for participation in either the ultra or the relay is $35 until Jan. 6, 2013. After that date it is $40. Big Island Road Runner Club members get a $5 discount.
