HI-PAL 3 on 3 Basketball Tournaments this summer

HI-PAL hoops tourneys this summer

The Hawaii Police Department’s traffic services section and the Hawaii Island Police Activities League will conduct Click It or Ticket 3-on-3 Basketball Tournaments on the following dates:

June 15-16: Keaau High School gym (tentative)

 June 22-24: Old Pahoa High gymnasium

 July 29-July 1: Kekuaokalani Gymnasium

July 14: Kamehameha Park gymnasium in Kohala

July 20-22: Papaaloa Gymnasium in Laupahoehoe

 Aug. 10-12: The new covered sports building in Panaewa

Aug. 24-26: Honokaa Parks and Recreation sports complex

Sept. 8: Naalehu gymnasium (tentative)

The tournaments offer five boys age divisions (5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14), a high school boys division, three girls age divisions (10-and-under, 12-and-under, 14-and-under) and a high school girls division. The tournament’s age cutoff date is Dec. 31, 2011.

Christian Peterson had 21 points and 17 rebounds, and Kainoa Souza-Chaves added 20 points as the Royals beat the Warriors.
Souza-Chaves, who scored four points in the four-minute extra session, tied it at 64-64 with a 3-pointer from the left wing with 54 seconds left in regulation.
Prior to that, Kapaa went on a 23-9 run to take a three-point lead.
Kapaa’s Kainoa Colipano scored 16 points.
