Hawaii’s Own Michelle Wie tied for second at LPGA Tailand Event
Michelle Wie is seeking to join I.E. Kim with three LPGA Tour titles, shot a 71 to stay in contention.
“On the front nine, I putted horribly, couldn’t make a single thing, but on the back nine I put myself together,” she said.
“It was hot out there and you have to focus because you find yourself getting tired. Tomorrow, hopefully I’ll get started off good, make birdies and learn from my mistakes.”
Kim carded a 72 to stay one shot ahead of U.S. Open champion Paula Creamer, who withdrew from last year’s event in Thailand due to her thumb problems.
“The golf course is playing awesome. It’s playing hard and in certain spots you can’t get up and down,” the fourth-placed American said after her 70.
Taipei’s Yani Tseng is in first place entering today’s final round at nine under par.
I.K. Kim from Korea and Michelle Wie are tied for second at 8 under par with Paula Creamer at fourth at seven under and Karrie Webb fifth at six under going into today’s final round.
