BIIF runners show ALOHA to the Big Dog

I was overwhelmed with the showing of kindness from all the schools from around the BIIF which gave me their support and prayers as I embark on my next journey to a leading brain cancer hospital in Houston, Texas.    All I can say is I’ll be back to write more stories if God wiils it.

  1. I can not think of a more deserving tribute to the man whose name is synonomous with Running on the Big Island! As a coach and sports writer you have given the Running community empowerment. So many youngsters as well as adults have you to thank for being their role model. We know we will have you back to continue your journey with us.
Aloha and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.

  2. I do not know you personally but the speech that coach Trusdell gave and all the Aloha shown by runners, coaches and parents was a well deserved tribute to an inspirational man. I know you have done so much to touch the lives of young and old. I believe you will be back stronger to continue your journey.
If anyone can beat this monster of an illness it is the BIGDOG!
Wishing you a safe travel and will look forward to seeing you again.
